“tomorrow”

it drives you home
then keeps you up
to crave alone
held in the rut
that safetys a ruse
and mocks tut tut
cause you care too much
and trust your gut
or think to deep
and drown in thought
or avoid a line
to pass on the cup
to withstand the waves
that pull you out
so your mind commutes
your body does what
does it lay in pieces
soul closed up
to stay home or strong
behind doors unlocked.

  1. Powerful – that sense of whether or not to trust your gut, stay home or stay strong… I just don’t know if we fully understand what teachers are asked to do right now. It’s a lot. Thank you for writing this – and for sharing.
